Celebrating World Ocean Day: Bidvest Insurance’s Commitment to Environmental Sustainability

As part of our commitment to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG), Bidvest Insurance, in partnership with Adopt a River, participated in a beach clean-up at Umhlanga Beach on Saturday, 8 June 2024, in honour of World Ocean Day.

World Ocean Day is a global celebration that emphasizes the critical role oceans play in our lives and the importance of protecting them. Oceans are vital to our planet’s health, providing oxygen, regulating the climate, and supporting marine biodiversity. However, they face significant threats from pollution, overfishing, and climate change.

The beach clean-up was a success. Bidvest Insurance employees and their families, and members of the community worked together to remove litter that makes its way into the ocean, causing injury or killing marine animals.

The event was more than just a clean-up; it was a demonstration of our collective commitment to environmental sustainability, and it strengthened our engagement with the community.

Looking ahead, Bidvest Insurance will continue to seek out opportunities to partner with like-minded organizations and engage in activities that promote environmental stewardship and social responsibility.
