The announcement made by the President of the Republic of South Africa Cyril Ramaphosa is a bold statement towards strong and proactive action and Bidvest Insurance supports this course of action.
Bidvest Insurance has taken active steps to safeguard our staff and customers. These are to ensure that we are able to maintain business operations and services to our customers.
Our approach is as follows: we are continuing to educate and inform our staff about COVID-19, including the intensification of personal hygiene practices at all Bidvest Insurance offices.
As responsible employees, all staff have been advised to restrict all non-essential travel and a moratorium has been placed on all international and domestic air travel.
A large number of our staff are already working from home and the balance of staff will be transitioned this week.
We continue to monitor developments, both locally and internationally, in respect of the response to COVID-19 and are adhering to the guidance being published by both the World Health Organisation, National Institute for Communicable Diseases as well as the National Department of Health.
